Struct DataResidency

Source
pub struct DataResidency { /* private fields */ }
Expand description

Where an operation’s inputs live and where its outputs are wanted.

Kept as a pair because they genuinely differ: a GPU broad phase may consume device-resident geometry and still have to deliver host-readable results.

Implementations§

Source§

impl DataResidency

Source

pub const HOST: Self

Both inputs and outputs in host memory. The portable default.

Source

pub const fn new(input: Residency, output: Residency) -> Self

Construct an explicit input/output residency plan.

Source

pub const fn input(self) -> Residency

Where inputs currently live.

Source

pub const fn output(self) -> Residency

Where outputs are wanted.

Source

pub fn is_transfer_free_on(self, backend: BackendId) -> bool

Whether running on backend needs no host/device transfer either way.

impl PartialEq for DataResidency

Source§

fn eq(&self, other: &DataResidency) -> bool

1.0.0 · Source§

fn ne(&self, other: &Rhs) -> bool

Tests for !=. The default implementation is almost always sufficient, and should not be overridden without very good reason.
