Fields (Non-exhaustive)

Non-exhaustive structs could have additional fields added in future. Therefore, non-exhaustive structs cannot be constructed in external crates using the traditional Struct { .. } syntax; cannot be matched against without a wildcard ..; and struct update syntax will not work.

cells_sampled: usize

Cells visited by the sampler.

surface_hits: usize

Surface crossings stored across all cells.

occupancy_spans: usize

Occupancy spans stored across all cells.

empty_cells: usize

Cells holding no layer at all.

multi_layer_cells: usize

Cells holding more than one surface crossing.

parallel_triangles_skipped: usize

Triangles skipped because they are parallel to the sampling direction.

out_of_bounds_hits: usize

Crossings discarded because they fell outside the local w bounds.

boundary_contacts: usize

Crossings that landed on a triangle edge or vertex within tolerance.

coincident_hits_merged: usize

Coincident crossings collapsed because adjacent facets share an edge.

A sampling line through a shared edge meets both facets, but the two reports describe one surface. They are merged and counted here rather than stored twice or dropped silently.

degenerate_triangles: usize

Triangles rejected as degenerate before sampling.
